According to the Austin American Statesman, local group 69 Grandview LP has announced plans for a 69 acre, $70 Million retail development at RM 620 and Wilson Park Ave.  It will be the region's first major retail project in nearly three years.

The Trails at 620 will consist of 300,000 square feet, filled with local retailers and restaurants, as well as a movie theater, hotel and specialty grocery store.

Other pieces of the acreage will be used for playscapes, ponds and two miles of trails.

A large greenbelt runs across the rear of the property, which backs up to the Balcones Canyonlands Preserve.

Utilities, zoning and an environmental permit from the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service are in place, making the parcel ready to build on.

The developers will break ground by June 2010, pending city approval, with expectations for a summer 2011 opening.
