4th of July Celebrations in Austin

Celebrate Independence Day "Austin Style"!  There is plenty to do on land. Unfortunately, all of the lakes will be closed to boating and swimming through the July 4th holiday.

The H-E-B Austin Symphony July 4th Concert and Fireworks  - Wed. July 4th at 8:30 pm North East Triangle of Zilker Park  www.austinsymphony.org/season/july

Cedar Park Fourth of July Celebration - Wed. July 4th - starts at 4pm  Milburn Park  www.cedarparktx.us/cp/pr_events_fourth.aspx  Planned events include games, live music, various family activities and a traditional large scale fireworks display.

Fire in the Sky  - Wed. July 4th at 6:30pm  The Sportsplex on RR12 South, Dripping Springs  www.drippingspringstx.org  Enjoy lots of entertainment, including food vendors, craft vendors, kids activities and fin, before the fireworks show.

Sertoma 4th of July in the Park  Wed. July 4th starting at 11:00 am  - San Gabriel Park, Georgetown  www.visitgeorgewtown.com  More than 80 booths, a petting zoo, parade, live entertainment, train rides, fireworks and more.

Lago Vista Celebrates the 4th  Wed. July 4th starting at 6:30pm  Bar K Park, Lago Vista  www.lagovistajuly4.org 

Lakeway 4th of July Celebration - Wed. July 4th at 8:30am  City Park, Lakeway  www.lakeway.org  Parade- 8:30 am, Pageant - 10:30 am, Picnic and games - 12:00 -3:00pm at City Park.  Fun, food, drinks, treats, games and many more surprises.  Entertainment and Fireworks at 8pm City Park.

Leander Liberty Fest - Wed. July 4th at 4:30 pm  Robin Bledsoe Park in Leander.  www.ci.leander.tx.us

July 4th Frontier Days Celebration Wed. July 4th at 8am- Old Settler's Park in Round Rock  www.roundrocktexas.gov

27th Annual San Marcos Summerfest - Wed. July 4th at 11:00 am - Sewell Park www.summerfestsanmarcos.com  Featuring a traditional fireworks display, food and activity booths, special events for children and more.  Continuous live entertainment includes David Ybarra, the LA Blues Band and others.

Family Circle magazine has named Cedar Park, which is about 20 miles North of Austin, one of the best communities nationwide for families.

For it's August 2007 issue, the magazine partnered with a New York based research firm to look at 1,850 cities and towns across the country with populations between 15,000 and 150,000 and a high concentration of households with an average income of $65,000 or more.

Narrowing the selections to the top ten, the research firm and Family Circle then looked at criteria including cost of living, jobs, green space, health care and air quality.
